‘Bharat Excellence Award’

Dr. Prem Nath, Chairman, PNASF was conferred
with National Bharat Excellence Award during the
national level seminar on ‘Economic Growth and
National Unity’ organized by the Friendship
Forum of India, New Delhi - 110 049 on November 27,
2011 held at C D. Deshmukh Memorial Auditorium, the
India International Centre, Max Mueller Marg, New
Delhi - 110003. The Seminar centered around the
economic growth and national unity attained by India
since its independence. It was presided over by
Mr. G. V. G. Krishnamurthy, former Election
Commissioner of India, flanked by well known
dignitaries from the civil society in science,
politics, literature, health and social welfare on
the dais. About 250 participants attended.

Awardees during seminar on “Economic Growth and
National Unity” On this occasion the
personalities with outstanding contribution to the
civil life were conferred with National Bharat
Excellence Awards in the form of plaque, medal
and certificate. The recipients of award in
agriculture, education, health and child welfare,
literature and resource mobilization hailed from
most of the states of India including Karnataka.
Dr. Prem Nath, who was invited to participate in
the seminar was presented with a plaque, medal and
certificate of Bharat Excellence Award for
his contribution in agriculture.
The Friendship Forum of India has served the Indian
society since long years by encouraging young and
early individuals who have had contributed
significantly toward the enlistment of the civil
societies. The PNASF acknowledges with pride
this recognition extended by the Friendship Forum of
India in the interest of national civil societies.
PNASF Received Insignia from the Princess of
Thailand:
In appreciation of the assistance and support
provided by the PNASF, Bangalore, India, to
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Foundation in all out efforts
to support appropriate programmes and projects in
rural development to fulfill the desire of His
Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand for his
people to maintain a subsistence level of living and
to eventually become self reliant, Her Royal
Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Thailand
awarded an ‘Insignia’ (Bearing HRH initials) to Dr. Prem Nath Agricultural Science Foundation,
Bangalore, India.
Assignment of Government of Karnataka:
Dr. Prem Nath was appointed as the Chairman of
the WTO Cell on Agriculture and Related Issues for
the Government of Karnataka. The Report was
submitted to the Chief Minister of Karnataka on
February 07, 2001.
Canara Bank Honored Dr. Prem Nath:
In recognition of the PNASF’s contribution to the
society, the Canara Bank honoured Dr. Prem Nath,
Chairman, PNASF during ‘Canara Bank Customer Meet’
on February 15, 2005 at Vyalikaval branch office.
FAO and WHO Workshop 2004:
WHO and FAO held their first joint workshop –
Fruits and Vegetables for Health from 1-3 September,
2004 at Kobe, Japan which was participated by
utritionists, health and horticulture scientists,
officials from ministries of health and agriculture,
WHO, FAO, WFP, UNECC, IFPRI, PNASF and other
institutions. About 52 participants from about 21
countries across the globe participated. The overall
goal of the workshop was to develop a draft
framework to guide the development of cost-effective
and effective interventions to promote adequate
consumption of fruits and vegetables. The PNASF was
invited by the FAO to participate and to provide the
resource person, Dr. Prem Nath to assist in the
workshop.
PNASF Awarded Rashtriya Sanman Award:
During the National seminar on “Individual
Contribution to National Growth” held on 23rd April,
2007 at Mumbai, Ravindra Natya Mandir, P. L.
Deshpande Kala Academy, Prabhadevi, Mumbai - 25
organized jointly by the Council for Economic Growth
and Research ( CEGR), National Education and Human
Resource Development Organization (NEHRDO), Centre
for Educational Development and Research (CEDR), and
Economic Growth Association of India (EGAI), Dr. Prem Nath, Chairman, PNASF was invited and was
presented Rashtriya Sanman Award, for his
outstanding contribution to the rural and urban
communities in food and agriculture sector through
Dr. Prem Nath Agricultural Science Foundation (PNASF).
The occasion was the National level joint seminar on
“ National Economic Growth through Individual
Contribution”.
The occasion was graced by the dignitaries in Mumbai
including Prof. Daniel Lichten Whelner (NASA, USA),
Mr. Dinesh Modi (Performist), Ms. Sharmila Raj
(Cinema Actress), Mr. Manmauji (Cinema actor), Prof.
Gleria Lichten Whelner (USA), Ms. Shabana Sultan
(Cinema actress) Dr. Rohidas Vaghmare (Heart
specialist), Amdar P. V. Mehta, Mr. Raj kumar
(Hindustan Prachar Sabha) and about 800 selected
participants from different states of India. The
awardees consisted from different sectors such as
education, industries, community development, food
and agriculture, and others.
PNASF received - Rashtriya Shiksha Ratna Award:
On August 29, 2007, during the National Level
Seminar on “National Economic Growth through
Individual Contribution” organized by the National
Education and Human Resource Development
Organization, Mumbai, the PNASF was awarded
“RASHTRIYA SHIKSHA RATNA AWARD” for its outstanding
contribution on food and nutrition security for the
benefit of poor urban and rural communities held at Ravi Natya Mandir, Mumbai 400 025. The award was
received by Dr. Prem Nath, Chairman, on behalf of
the PNASF. The occasion was graced by the
dignitaries on the dais from India and abroad and
was attended by about 1,000 delegates from different
states of India.
Chairman, PNASF Nominated as the Resource Person to
the IIHM, Bangalore:
The Board of Management of the newly established
International Institute of Horticulture Management (IIHM)
in Bangalore, nominated Dr. Prem Nath as a Resource
Person to develop its programme. The IIHM is an
initiative of the Ecumenical Christian Centre (ECC)
and is located at its Campus in Whitefield,
Bangalore. IIHM is a manifestation of ECC’s
commitment to ecology and preservation of planet
Earth. It aims at educating young men and women in
scientific management of horticultural crops. Dr.
H.P. Singh felicitating Dr. Prem Nath during the
38th Group meeting of the All India Coordinated
Vegetable Improvement Project.
